Seminar Class Aug. 2009

Final Day of Seminar
This is our class from our final day of teaching. The week has turned out nicely and we were blessed by the comments at the end of the day. Out of this class four couples have signed up for counseling tomorrow as well as several of the singles. We start counseling tomorrow at 10 and our last apt. is at 9 p.m. so as you can see it will be a busy busy day. Please pray for us to have stamina and wisdom.
Today Wayne taught the rest of the resolving conflict teachings and also taught on forgiveness, peace and joy principle and ended the day with divorce issues. We opened it up for questions at the end and spent an hour answering questions on various things we taught. We have also received several invitations to other cities in the Ukraine.
Tonight we went to the Methodist church for a picnic and had a great time of fellowship.
On Saturday we will meet with Angelica the wife of the gypsy pastor who left her last year. Hopefully we will be able to encourage her and help her overcome all the side effects of this experience. Pray for us to have Gods words for her. He is the only one who can heal this broken hearted woman. We are going to post several other pictures on the blog and hope you will enjoy seeing your mission dollars at work. God Bless You all and Thank you for your prayers. With Love, Wayne and Sherry

Wayne and Sherry with an 85 yr old Grandma

This is the Grandma we wrote about in our last post. Pray for her to fulfill her commission as an older woman to teach younger women the Titus 2 principles.

Wednesday - DAY OF VICTORY!

Praise the Lord! Thank you all for praying. Today was amazing and the presence of the Lord was evident and great freedom was there. The people were friendly, talkative and asked for apts. to counsel with us. It was like a whole new group. Wayne taught this morning on the first part of causes of conflict and will complete the teaching tomorrow morning. Sherry taught on biblical finances this afternoon and had the people make up budgets. It was fun and one lady said that as she listed all the ways she spent her money, it made her sick and she realized she has some changes to make. There were several single women there also who said they had never had a budget and were quite excited to see how it would help them manage.
*
Pastor Sergei and Esther picked us up at 4:00 and took us to a lovely restaurant for dinner before the seminar tonight. The seminar was fun and the people were hungry for the Word. One 85 yr. old woman said she had never heard of how to care or behave with her husband and she went home last night after the seminar and did what we taught and she said " IT WORKED!" She was so excited to see how the Word put into action could produce such immediate changes in her husband and her relationship. She said that it breaks her heart that she has wasted all these years and here she is at the end of her life just learning that she as an older woman has a purpose to teach the younger women how to walk out Titus 2:3-5. She is on an exciting journey. Please pray for her.
*
We are really tired so please pray for us tonite that we sleep well and that we have stamina tomorrow.

Tuesday

Hi Everyone,
We have never been so glad to have a day end as today. The spiritual warfare was horrid. Poor Wayne had to stop in the middle of his teaching this morning the oppression was so bad. We had the people join us in prayer and sensed a lifting up of the oppression at least for awhile. Every time he teaches on the husband as the servant leader some form of warfare begins. Anyway, we made it through the day exhausted as a result.
*
Tonight we had dinner with Pastor Sergei and Esther his wife. Then we taught the seminar at their church which was like a breath of fresh air. The people were leaning forward interested, pulling truth out of us. So it went well. PTL.
*
Please pray for us all day tomorrow, as a matter of fact start tonight before bed. Stand against indifference, pride and tiredness. These are the things coming against this group of precious people.
*
We will have our final day of teaching at the Methodist church tomorrow night and then on Thursday they are having a picnic and we will answer questions. It should be fun. This pastor is born again and spirit filled and has such a heart for the Lord and his people. It is a pleasure to minister at his church.
*
The weather has been hot and most buildings here are not air conditioned. I am sure glad that Dee donated all that deodorant. :>) Blessings to all and thank you for praying.

Monday

Today has been good. We started this morning at 10 with our teachings. We have around 30 people which is a good group. Small enough to get to know them but large enough to make the room look full. We have already lined up 3 counseling appointments. Please pray for us as we meet with these people. The cultural differences make counseling a special challenge at times. One man is a pastor and his wife is not here because their problems are so serious that she would not come. He wants to meet with us. Tomorrow 3 more couples are scheduled to come. We taught on purpose of marriage, and the meaning of biblical love and the differences between men and women today.
*
We also are in our apt. finally. It is great to unpack and feel like we have a home. Tomorrow will be very busy since we start the evening seminar at the Methodist church. We will have dinner with Pastor Sergei and Esther first and then teach until 9.
*
There is a group here from Germany who come several times a year to work in the hospital with the abandoned babies. They come and hold them, pray over them and just love on them for a week or more. Anyone want to come help with this needed ministry? Let us know and you can come in March with us. We will be collecting baby clothes and disposable diapers for this ministry also. More in formation when we get home.
*
God bless you all and thank you for your prayer support. It really makes a difference.

Sunday

Hi Everyone,
We are learning to be more flexible this trip than any other. This morning is a perfect example. Wayne was asked to preach at the Methodist Church and so we got up early to gte there on time. After the worship which was beautiful, the choir director led them accappella and the harmony made it sound like there were instruments, anyway, the Pastor stood up and greeted everyone and said that he was going to share for a few minutes on the life of Abraham. Well one hour later the people were tired and Wayne realized that the pastor was not going to have him preach. Smile time....learning to prefer others time......but God is so good. The pastor came over and said to Wayne that for sure he was to preach the evening service. So we got to come back and nap and at 5 go back to Church. This service was contemporary and full of young people and the presence of the Lord . Wayne preached a marvelous message on the questions God asks us. It was powerful and the the Lord gave Wayne a word for the church that he was able to share also. After the service we met with the Pastor and his wife in their home for fellowship and prayer. He has asked us to come and do a marriage seminar with all the Methodist pastors in his district which includes most of the country. We will do this in March when we come.
*
Tomorrow starts our seminar here and we will teach all day until 9 p.m. Tues - Thurs we will teach here plus go to the Methodist church each evening for a seminar there and then on Friday we will meet with the people from our seminar to counsel. It will be a busy week and I will try to update as I have time. Whatever, please keep us in prayer. Tomorrow we are also going to get our apt.
*
Blessings and love to you all,
Wayne and Sherry

Saturday

We had a great travel day and the Lord graced us with Exit row seats so we had plenty of leg room. There were no problems or delays at all. Our new driver picked us up in Kosice and was very nice. He and his wife are not believers but decided to give us a discount on the drive and gave us money back in Hrivna. That was an added blessing.
*
We have learned over the years coming here to be very flexible. Good thing. Our apt. was occupied with Belgians who had wanted to stay an extra day so instead of telling them they would have to move since the room was rented, they put us in another room. :>)))) Oh well the bed in the other room worked. We are supposed to be moved this afternoon. Time will tell. We will spend today with Richard and Anya. Can't wait to see them. Things here at Nehemiah continue to get better. They are filled up with people and also have found much favor in the area so the ministry side is blossoming. PTL.
*
Wayne will be preaching two times tomorrow and then Monday we will teach all day and evening. They have added a day of teaching next Sat. as well for the gypsy pastors. So we will not have much free time this visit. Please pray for stamina for us. Thanks so much.

Blessings, Wayne and Sherry

10 Days and counting

We are down to the wire. Only a few more workshops to outline and plan and we will be done.
Your prayers are so appreciated. Would you please pray that our families will stay healthy and that our church family also stays healthy. Special prayer is requested for Mrs. Bath who is 97 and not in good health and also for Sharons mom who has cancer. Both of these ladies are Christians with a strong testimony of walking with the Lord. Ask God to strengthen them in the spirit and body. Thank you.
We are still receiving donations toward the love offering we will leave with Nehemiah so if you would like to give toward that please be sure to specify it on your check. Thank you.
Our flight leaves on the 13th at 2:30 p.m. and we will arrive Lord willing on the 14th. Prayer for leg room would be appreciated. :>)
We will start the posts of the ministry being done starting on the 15th.
God Bless You,
Pastor Wayne and Sherry
